Faith Formation is offered at Saint Matthew’s on Sundays. Grades K – 5 meet at 9:15 am for one hour, from September through May.

The  objective is to provide the basic foundations for the understanding of Catholic faith, building from one year to the next.

The primary resource for Grades 1-8 is Discover! Finding Faith in Life by St. Mary's Press, designed to help children fully engage in the process of discovering and growing in the richness of their Catholic faith:

• The Bible is the primary text immersing children in Scripture by anchoring each chapter with a particular bible story.  This promotes bible literacy and familiarity with key Scripture of Old and New Testaments.
• Lessons are designed to foster a deep understanding through an active-learning approach, rooted in "discovery". Content allows children to make connections with previous experiences and knowledge and invites them to deepen both as they discover new concepts and practices of the Catholic Faith.
• Involves families with a family page in each activity booklet that gives guidance to Scripture store and core concepts covered in the chapter as well as ideas to strengthen the concept learned in the lesson.
• Provides online component to further strengthen the concepts covered and assist families with catch up of missed classes.
