• Ash Wednesday & Good Friday – Both Wednesday, March 5, 2025, and Friday, April 18, 2025, are days of fast and abstinence (from meat) in the universal Church.
• Every Friday of Lent – All Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence (from meat) in the Church in the United States.
• The Law of Abstinence (from Meat) – Binds Catholics aged 14 and older.
• The Law of Fasting – Binds Catholics aged 18 and over, until the beginning of their 60th year (through age 59).

The Season of Lent is a time of renewal. We long to grow closer to Christ, as we look forward to the celebration of the Paschal Mystery. When we sin, we harm our relationship with God and his Church. That is why the Sacrament of Reconciliation is such a wonderful gift to experience during Lent. Through the sacrament, we experience God's mercy, our sins are forgiven, and we are healed.

In addition to the regularly scheduled times each week for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, additional times will be held during the week prior to Holy Week. Please consult the schedule below.

Each Friday of Lent (beginning March 7), the Stations of the Cross will be prayed at 4:00pm at Holy Family Church. Please consider participating in this traditional Lenten practice of prayer as we meditate on the Passion of Our Lord.
